Who is she?

Rachel Power is a connector, collaborator, reforming perfectionist, procrastinator, people pleaser, and life-long learner. A mum, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, auntie, friend, initiator, creative problem solver, coach, mentor, consultant, facilitator, and do-er, Rachel loves nothing more than supporting ambitious professionals to deliver more value in the workplace by being the best they can be.

With over 20 years of experience (and scars!) working in the corporate world, leading global cross-functional teams to deliver multi-million-pound cost savings for companies including the UK's favourite tea brand, Tetley, and global pharma giant, GlaxoSmithKline, Rachel established Power Your Potential in 2020.

Always one to join the dots and connect and collaborate with different departments across organisations as well as external suppliers, Rachel has been creating and delivering learning and training interventions to increase capability whenever gaps are identified throughout her entire career, whether in a 1:1 capacity or a 200-attendee global town hall.

Achievements

Rachel’s vast and varied experience has also meant she’s worked with numerous people and organisations from many different industries including engineering, fast-moving consumer goods, pharma, healthcare, packaging, travel, software, and consultancy. This really gives her an advantage when it comes to quickly understanding what's really going on for her clients.

Her proudest achievement from her corporate career is being a winner of an exclusive President Award from GlaxoSmithKline for inspiring and developing talent—not only once, but twice. Yet, despite Rachel’s successful track record of delivering results through others and ignoring functional and organisational boundaries, it’s only since leaving the corporate world that she recognised that she was not being her true self.

For too many years she let her people-pleasing tendencies, fear of judgement, and strive for perfection hold her back. She’s since retired her inner martyr and is on a continuous learning journey to understand what makes people tick. She’s uncovered the secret to why she always had a problem speaking up in front of people in more senior positions than her, how to put in place and maintain personal boundaries to avoid burnout, and how to tame her inner critic. Now she’s on a mission to share these vital learnings with the corporate world.
